The Watford UTC is very excited to be opening its own student-run Travel Agency, Escape.
At our Official Launch Day, 8th July 2016, Captain Martin Chalk, Air Line Pilot and President of the International Federation of Air Line Pilots Association, officially opened Escape in front of students and staff and our special guests including Watford MP, Richard Harrington.

Lorraine Davenport, Watford UTC Director and teacher of Travel & Tourism, will be co-ordinating with Joel Shahar at University of Hertfordshire and Simon Dirham of Thomas William Travel, to manage a team of students who will man the agency and market it in and around Watford and Hertfordshire.
Lorraine’s background in hospitality, tourism and events started with Thomson Holidays, KLM and Scandinavian Airlines. From there she moved on to managing a large and very successful travel agency before her entrepreneurial flair led to her starting her own a hospitality catering company.
Students will deal face-to-face with customers and use industry-standard systems to search for, plan and book holidays and business trips. They will gain the vital hands-on industry skills that employers are looking for and develop invaluable customer-facing interpersonal skills.
